STERN-GERLACH EXPERIMENT

Abstract

Stern-Gerlach experiment is a clear demonstration of space quantization of angular momentum of the electron and the electrons spin. The aim of this experiment was true Prove the Bohr-Sommer field theory, that the direction of angular momentum of a silver atom is quantised, but experiment give some unpredicted result which was in agreement with the hypothesis of spin that was given later. It is a very celebrated experiment conducted by the German scientists in 1922.
