Abstract

Subsonic wind tunnel is a type of wind tunnel where speed (inside test section) range less than 0.3 Mach. The wind tunnel we have is a very low speed, open circuit, suction type with square cross-section. Its flow velocity is about 0.03 Mach (i.e. about 10m/s) and this is because of fan limit (we have used 9 inch, 2-blade type propeller with a Brushless DC motor). It is entirely made from stainless steel sheet (1/2mm thick). Sections are joined through rivet joints. Theoretically, our critical laminar flow speed is approximately 0.12m/s. Its total length is 1.9m.
