Abstract

This article is about microphone which is an acoustics device. This article also discusses about the types of microphone and their uses in short.

Most of the modern acoustic devices used in the recording and reproduction of sound are electrical devices. Microphone is one of the most important electronic devices. They also have another name that is electrostatic transducers, which means, it is a device which transfers energy from one system to another system with the change in the form of energy. Because microphone converts acoustic energy to electrical energy. Microphones are used for two purposes. The convert electrical signal may be amplified and used to re conversion into sound energy or the electrical signal can be stored for future manipulation and reproduction.

 

This conversion required at an of physical phenomena as so it requires a lot of devices that is capacitor a various resistance induction machines etc. It makes the use of physical phenomena like capacitance, induction, peizo electric effects, magnetostriction. Throughout the years different types of microphones were invented to serve different type of purposes.
