During COVID 19, Department of Aerospace Engineering, Chandigarh University has organized the 1st National Level AERO-MECH Conceptual Design Competition 2020 to enhance the design skills of students belong to Aerospace engineering and Mechanical engineering.
Coordinators: Ajin Branesh, Pon Maa Kishan and Aishwarya Dhara.
Over 30 designs from all over India have been submitted under various categories which includes Automotive Vehicle | Aircraft or Glider, Rocket | Wind Turbine, Space Shuttle | Rovers, Space Capsule | Space Station, Satellite | UAV – Drone, Flying Suit | Airship, IC/Gas Turbine/ Alternative Engine, Wind Tunnel | Missile. The event is organized in three different phases from shortlisting the innovative abstracts, plagiarism check, presentation and then final judgement of winners. Although 30 concepts have been submitted, only 18 articles are accepted for the publication in the proceedings.
The following are the winners of 1st National Aero-Mech Design Competition,
1] Karan Kumar Shaw – SRM Institute of Technology | Conceptual Design of unconventional RC aircraft.
2] Shivam Bhandari – Chandigarh University | Design and Development of V-HTOL aircraft with tilt rotor and split wing mechanism.
3] V Mohan Kumar – KCG College of Engineering | Design of a Supersonic Surface to Air Missile (SAM) with a small nose bluntness to provide structural integrity.
